Picture standing in the middle of a seesaw, one foot on each side of the center. Patience on one end, urgency on the other. Lean a little left, then a little right, keeping both ends off the ground. We are the balance, not one of the weights. When a storm pushes one way, we lean the other. The work is the leaning, and it takes self-awareness and practice.

Who’s behind this
My son Sam taught me to listen.
He has autism and is an unreliable speaker, and he communicates by spelling on an iPad that speaks his words aloud. Learning to truly hear him taught me more about listening than four decades of leadership work ever did, and that same skill is what changes the work with AI: the more context and care we bring, the more the results sound like us.
